No seriously though I can really see Kakashi distancing himself from Rin in this AU where she survives the chidori strike. He still blames himself, feels the guilt and for him it’s like everything he touches he breaks so he thinks it’s for her own good. 

And she doesn’t know what to do, blames herself and thinks he hates her and feels like an idiot, so they just drift apart until the Kyuubi attack on the village where their generation is all herded off for protection and there’s awkward small talk then they lose their sensei Minato and slowly reconnect due to that grief.

By this point her crush on him is dying and instead she sees that Kakashi doesn’t hate her like she thought, he’s just damaged, they’re both damaged and hurting and it’s like they go through a process of getting to know each other all over again. She sees him for who he is, not the flawless badass she thought he was and Kakashi thinks she’s incredibly strong both mentally for being willing to sacrifice herself rather than become a risk to the village and also now physically because she’s a kickass medic and has embraced being a jinchuuriki and is at peace both with herself and her tailed beast.
